A Study of Air Quality in An Air-conditioned Bus and Human Health

Abstract: By a questionnaire survey holding in Guangzhou to know about the residents’ subjective feelings, physiological reaction while taking an air-conditioned bus, and their cognition to the present condition of the bus inside air quality, in application of the advanced detecting techniques, nine items of CO2, total number of bacterial colony, particulate pollutant, CO, formol, equivalent noise, temperature, relative humidity, pressure were detected. The related experiment was also held on Guangzhou ordinary buses, the Metro, large scale public sites and London air-conditioned buses. A simultaneous questionnaire survey of subjective feelings of passengers was held along with the CO2 detection inside the air-conditioned bus. With the findings processed and analyzed in statistical methods, significant results were drawn out. On this basis, with mathematical model method introduced, an evaluation software was designed, the relationship between the air quality inside an air-conditioned bus and human health was analyzed better. In the light of the existing problems, reasonable suggestions were put forward, providing reference for improvement of the bus inside air quality.
